2017 FAVORITES by myan soffia

Now that 2017 is over I have been looking through my photos from our trips last year. I am so happy we were able to revisit 3 of our favorite places: Joshua Tree, San Diego, and Sedona Arizona. It was fun to go back this time with my baby boy and to also have an upgraded camera since the last time I had visited these places.

Here are some of my favorite images from our road trips. Prints are available in my Etsy shop or directly through me, email me at Myan@MyanSoffia.com

We went to Joshua Tree last February. It was freezing outside when I took most of these shots. I remember my right index finger was frozen stiff from keeping it on the shutter button the whole time. But it was worth it! I don't think I've seen a more gorgeous sunset than the one in Joshua Tree. The desert is such a magical place.

In April we went to San Diego. The last time we were here was in 2014 when baby boy was not even a year old. We had a lot of fun then because we were visiting family but this time we had a blast because he could play in the water. He was obsessed with the beach. I mean, who isn't right? :) Coronado was hands down our favorite.

In November we went to Sedona Arizona. We first went 11 years ago. It was so much fun to have baby boy with us this time. And Sedona has changed a bit since we were last there. This time we made side trips to Jerome, Cottonwood and Prescott. Arizona is such a beautiful state.

Finished the rest of the editorials I shot for my collaboration Pure Fix Clothing. For part of her Spring 2016 collection, she used my images La La Land, Tres, and Sign No.2  to create the most gorgeous kimonos, shorts and a sexy mini dress.

I absolutely loved doing the editorials! If you have a project and are in need of some shots, email me anytime! Myan@MyanSoffia.com

Here's a quick preview of the editorial shoot I did with Pure Fix Clothing. Tricia took some of my Los Angeles images and turned them into gorgeous pieces. She used my image La La Land to create these two, a sexy dress and a kimono!

Dream San Francisco by myan soffia

My first book has been published! 30 of my San Francisco images were chosen to create a beautiful fine art postcard book, Dream San Francisco, Quarto Publishing. I am so thrilled it has been released this summer.

They did an amazing job! The postcards are thick enough to withstand a journey through the postal system or they can easily be framed.

Pick up a copy on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

Level DTLA Furnished Living, downtown Los Angeles by myan soffia

I finally had a chance this weekend to tour the beautiful Level DTLA building where several of my images are living. I love the arrangements and the photos that were selected. It was really cool to walk into the lobby and see 2 of my pieces, Entrance to the City and Nightowlbehind the check-in. And I was only able to find a few more of the images but from what I understand they are scattered around on  many of the 34 floors. What an honor to have my work in this luxury building! Thanks so much Onni group!

Target by myan soffia

Target licensed my Joshua Tree image, No. 189 for the month of April. We checked 4 Target stores near us: Glendale, Eagle Rock, 2 in Pasadena and couldn't find it. My sweetheart friend checked Alhambra, nope not there.  My sweet cousin here looked near his place and my sweet cousin in San Jose looked near her as well. Nada! They couldn't find it. But my wonderful friends and family back east found it in their Target stores! I was so thrilled to see it!

And then amazingly enough, on one of the very last days it was to be displayed we took a family beach day. I had forgotten to bring our sunscreen so my husband stopped at the Target in West Hollywood. I had long given up on finding it. As soon as I walked in I just happened to glance to the right and there it was! Couldn't believe it! Thank goodness I forgot our sunscreen! What a treat to finally have seen it in person! :)
